The Stock & Station Agents program in New South Wales is designed for individuals aspiring to build a successful career in rural and agricultural real estate, livestock sales, and associated services. This program equips students with the specialized knowledge and skills required to operate as a licensed Stock & Station Agent under NSW legislation.

What units will I complete?
The program is composed of the following five units:
- CPPREP5311 Develop and maintain rural property market knowledge and intelligence
- CPPREP4301 Confirm and market livestock for sale
- CPPREP4302 Prepare livestock for sale
- CPPREP4303 Establish vendor and buyer relationships in livestock sale
- CPPREP4304 Complete sales process – livestock
Why should I complete this program?
In New South Wales, a stock and station agent licence is required to act on behalf of others in transactions involving rural properties larger than 20 hectares, livestock and livestock agistment, or to operate as an auctioneer for rural land or livestock.
Please note – If you are intending to conduct auctions as a stock and station agent, you will also need to hold the auctioneer accreditation.
Does this program have formal entry requirements?
There are no formal entry requirements for this program.
However, prior to commencing the course you will be required to complete an LLND (Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Literacy) assessment.
You will also be required to provide a Unique Student Identifier (USI) number. If you do not currently have one, you will be able to register at usi.gov.au.
While this program satisfies the educational requirements of a Class 2 licence, you should also check NSW Fair Trading’s eligibility requirements (see here).
