The Auctioneer Accreditation program equips aspiring auctioneers with the essential skills and knowledge required to conduct auctions for property, land (including rural land), and livestock in New South Wales. This program is designed to meet the training requirements for auctioneer accreditation under NSW legislation, enabling students to operate professionally and in compliance with legal standards.
How long does this program take?
Successful completion will depend on your current skills, knowledge, and the time you have available to study.
We offer flexible study options to help you achieve your chosen career goals.
What units will I complete?
The program is composed of the following three units:
- CPPREP4161 Undertake pre-auction processes
- CPPREP4162 Conduct and complete sale by auction
- CPPREP4163 Complete post-auction process and contract execution
Why should I complete this program?
In NSW, you must be accredited as an auctioneer to conduct auctions involving property, land (including rural land), or livestock.
To qualify for this accreditation, you need to hold either a Real Estate Agent Licence or a Stock and Station Agent Licence (Class 1 or Class 2), and complete the required training.
Once granted, your auctioneer accreditation remains valid as long as your licence is current and is either renewed on time or restored within three months of its expiry.
An assistant stock and station agent may auction livestock only if they are employed by, and working under the direct supervision of, a licensed stock and station agent.
What will this program enable me to do?
If you intend to conduct auctions as a real estate agent or stock and station agent, you must hold auctioneer accreditation for:
property
land
livestock (including horses, cattle, or sheep)
Does this program have formal entry requirements?
There are no formal entry requirements for this program.
However, prior to commencing the course you will be required to complete an LLND (Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Literacy) assessment.
You will also be required to provide a Unique Student Identifier (USI) number. If you do not currently have one, you will be able to register at usi.gov.au.
While this program satisfies the educational requirements of a Class 2 licence, you should also check NSW Fair Trading’s eligibility requirements (see here).
